Q+-Algorithm : An Enhanced RFID Tag Collision Arbitration Algorithm
نویسندگان
چکیده
Emerging applications of RFID require high e–ciency of tag identiflcation. Since passive tags have dumb functionality, the efflciency of tag identiflcation in RFID system relies on the performance of the collision arbitration algorithm embedded in a reader. In this paper, we develop a novel collision arbitration algorithm, which is named Q-Algorithm, improving Q-Algorithm which is introduced in a standard, EPCglobal Class-1 Generation-2. We maximized the e–ciency of tag identiflcation by modifying and optimizing the parameters used in Q-Algorithm. Simulation-based performance evaluation proves that our scheme shows the best identiflcation e–ciency among the diverse solutions.

Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a new generation of automatic identification systems, based on wireless communication technology. In these systems all the tags using one communication channel to communicate with the reader. When two or more tags transmit their data to the reader simultaneously, their transmitted signals will collide. Resolving this collision has a direct impact on the ...
متن کاملA Time - Optimal Anti - collision Algorithm for FSA - Based RFID Systems
© 2011 ETRI Journal, Volume 33, Number 3, June 2011 With the introduction of the new generation RFID technology, EPCglobal Class-1 Generation-2, there is considerable interest in improving the performance of the framed slotted Aloha (FSA)-based tag collision arbitration protocol. We suggest a novel time-optimal anti-collision algorithm for the FSA protocol. Our performance evaluation demonstrat...
متن کاملFast and Power Efficient Sensor Arbitration: Physical Layer Collision Recovery of Passive RFID Tags
This work concerns physical layer collision recovery for cheap sensors with allowed variations in frequency and delay of their communications. The work is presented as a generic, communication theoretic framework and demonstrated using UHF RFID tag technology. Previous work in this area has not provided recovery for more than two tags, which is shown to be possible in this work. Also presented ...
متن کاملYA-NING YAN et al: AN EFFICIENT TAG IDENTIFICATION ALGORITHM BASED ON IMPROVED COLLISION
Tag collision has a negative impact on the performance of RFID systems. In this paper, we propose an algorithm termed anti-collision protocol based on improved collision detection (ACP-ICD). In this protocol, dual prefixes matching and collision bit detection technique are employed to reduce the number of queries and promptly identify tags. According to the dual prefixes matching method and col...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of Anti-Collision Algorithms for RFID System with Different Delay Requirements
The main purpose of Radio-frequency identification (RFID) implementation is to keep track of the tagged items. The basic components of an RFID system include tags and readers. Tags communicate with the reader through a shared wireless channel. Tag collision problem occurs when more than one tag attempts to communicate with the reader simultaneously. Therefore, the second-generation UHF Electron...
